Meetings

The initial assessment session is typically 90 minutes long.  In most cases, this is followed by weekly sessions lasting 50 minutes.  Sessions may be more or less frequent depending on your needs.  After the initial assessment I will be able to give you an estimate of how many therapy sessions you will probably need to meet your therapy goals.

Professional Fees

My standard hourly fee is $130.  My standard charge for the initial assessment is $220.  The fee for therapy sessions is $130.  I also charge this amount for other professional services you may need, although I will break down the hourly cost if I work for periods of less than one hour. Examples of other services include report writing, extended telephone conversations, and consulting with other professionals at your request.

Insurance

If you chose to use your insurance benefit, and I am a provider with this company, I will work with your plan.  If I am not a provider for this company, the company may still reimburse you a portion of my fee as an out-of-network provider. I will provide you with statements which you can submit for reimbursement.  It is important to understand your mental health benefits, how they are managed, and most importantly whether or not I am a provider with your plan.  If you have questions, you should call your insurance customer service department. Pre-authorization of treatment is sometimes required before services will be reimbursed as well as periodic treatment plans in order for the company to determine whether or not there is a need for ongoing therapy.   If your benefits are used up or ongoing therapy is denied, and you wish to continue therapy, we will discuss options for continuing your treatment.  You always have the option to pay for therapy out of pocket and avoid the involvement of your insurance plan.

I am currently an in-network provider for Aetna, Aspire, Anthem BlueCross, Community Health Plan, MHN, and ValueOptions.
